Week 2, April 15 — The anatomy of a bitcoin transaction

A look at the detail of how a bitcoin transaction is constructed, how it is submitted to the network and how the network validates and records that transaction onto the blockchain.

Week 3, April 22 — Buying and Selling bitcoin

A detailed look at the evolution of bitcoin markets and the lessons learned from the failures. A review of the trader tools available. A walk through of a market transaction.

Week 4, April 29 — The legal position of Bitcoin

A review of bitcoin related regulation, laws and cases involving bitcoin. Anticipating the evolution of bitcoin regulation.

Week 5, May 06 — A glimpse of the future

The blockchain expanded. Multisignature, Colored Coins, Side Chains, Ripple and Smart Contracts. A glimpse of the future.

The Roolo Bitcoin Application of the Week

Each session will end with 10 minutes on "The Roolo Bitcoin Application of the Week" - a look at an innovative application using bitcoin - often achieving something not possible with conventional software or financial applications.

After each lecture there will be a chance to network including meeting with innovators invited to each of the sessions.


Sessions will be delivered by Anthony Culligan, the CEO of Roolo, and other invited specialists.

Anthony is the CEO of Roolo, the City Bitcoin Company and the company behind the new peer to peer bitcoin trading site roolo.io. After starting his career as a programmer in the 80's, Anthony deployed his skills in traditional finance as a quantitative fund manager, derivatives trader and an investor in complex hedge funds. He has been a director at Robert Fleming Securities, JP Morgan and Aida Capital and CEO of F&C; Partners. Anthony is a keen financial historian and commentator on monetary philosophy.
